SOE has attached their names to some pretty decent MMOs and some pretty disappointing ones. But I don't think they even developed most of them, just published.
The most disappointing MMO they have actually made is probably Star Wars: Galaxies.
Edit: Tbh, I'm not sure who is actually maintaining the content after the game launches, developer or publisher. Or both.
By the same guy who wrote "Sony needs to STFU"? 'Nuff said.
How is ogling a real woman you'll never have any better? :/
Too damn true:
"[If we made the game for high-end PCs], someone with a low-end PC would have a watered down experience, they would have to turn all the settings down and it wouldn't be the same game. On the other hand if we made that game for as many people as possible then it's not taking advantage of what those $4,000 systems can do."
Tip: Creating controversy can work wonders for site traffic, but it helps if the games are more than remotely similar.
Yeah, I guess it's time for the "MS is doomed" articles for a brief switch.
Carry on, N4G...
It's because of the posted loss. Blood in the water. Etc.
"Why was UT3 the only PS3 game to do this so far?"
Because Epic worked their butts off to make it so. It's down to the individual devs and most aren't focused on free user mod integration. They would likely rather rely on paid DLC anyway since it brings in a profit.
@Syro
Ok sure. But how is that anyone's fault? You act as if consumers formed a conglomerate to intentionally spite the console.
I mean, obviously a lot of PS2 owners didn't adopt a PS3 or else the PS3 sales would reflect the massive install base of the previous console. Whatever their reasons, they held off. Maybe it was price. You can't blanket judge people's finances. The reasons are myriad. But do you seriously think people were thinking Sony would actually remo...
I don't care about boobs so much as I enjoy games that don't baby me about mature themes.
I was iffy about grabbing this one, but it's Obsidian... I've long wanted to see what they can do with some original material.
"It's way too easy for kids to get the wrong ideas about sex so I sorta agree that games should be games and not dating sims/relationship seminars. Games should be entertainment...not that sex isn't entertaining. The two shouldn't be too involved is all I'm saying, sex is way more serious than a few pixelated peep shots."
I disagree. Saying games shouldn't have all that is like saying movies shouldn't just because kids can watch movies too.
People need to r...
I don't get this "only yourself to blame" attitude, Syro. Did Sony ever advertise limited time only BC?
Well. This article injured parts of my brain, but hell. Learn something new everyday, eh?
Those are sweet looking case mods. But I don't believe that's the point.
There's no question these are awe-inspiring. But if he's saying what I'm thinking, the OFFICIAL collector's edition 360s have been terribly uninspired.
MS needs to take a cue from these guys and the Bayonetta console. If MS were to do one of these, it would be FIRE. No question.
There goes my imagination...
Solid list, my good gamer. Bubs fer ya.
For what the list is supposed to be, it's terrible. Keep in mind, just because Haze is there, don't get fooled into thinking this is supposed to be a list of poor games.
But it's not a very good list of games that fell out of the spotlight too soon either.
For a guy "in bed with" MS, this was actually a comment to defend why Bobby Kotick couldn't afford to lose PS3 sales of Activision games. Basically saying that they may do a lot of business on Wii, but PS3 sales are not chump change at all.
I'd also like to point out how PS3 sdks ship with UE3. I don't see how that figures into a MS conspiracy.
Perhaps you could make me understand?
That's just a lot of spin, cmbre. They have what...four multiplats that were just as underwhelming as NB on PS3 AND 360?
Demon's Souls will be great, but it's the exception not the standard.
Ok, Nintendo. You keep withholding the online components, and I will continue to recommend better online capable platforms to those new gamers you say don't care about it.
I honestly can't believe they would think that.
Trying to find new ways to monetizing MP, I can totally understand. But that first reason of expanding by withholding seems like a lot of nonsense.
I'm not sure Apple ever owned the Halo IP or any part of Bungie.
I do know Bungie were one of the few devs to consistently support the Mac being that they were one of the few devs quite focused on it as a gaming platform.
